As my Mk1 Fiesta is strictly show/dry use only & with it being in 100% original/standard condition it's far to good to be modified. So,i wanted to get another 'Old Ford' which i could use more often & modify slightly,no big plans like an engine swap, just some cheapish easy mods & trying to keep with-in the 'Ford' theme. Got this 2 owner 1989 Mk4 Escort 1.4L of a friend, very well looked after/maintained. How i got it. 3 spoke RS wheel. First mod was a pair of Recaro's,found 90 spec ones local to me,just a good clean needed. Both front door cards were damaged so after a long search i located a set from an Orion GL,in grey which match the Recaro's a treat. The alloys that came on it were only 14" so i wanted to fit 15's, prob not many peoples choice but after seeing 15" Mondeo 'spare' steel wheels on a Mk4 i liked the look of them so i hunted down a set of 5,painted in Ford Strato Silver-followed by a custom made/fitted sports exhaust by PipeCraft in Basildon, next up was a 35mm drop & Sparco mudflaps. Mk3 Escort steel wheel caps. Future plans-black bumper/side inserts-new hwad lights & may go clear indicators.
